Project Management Services
Burns Bridge can provide project management services on a per diem or contract basis.
In the 1980's Burns Bridge working in a number of positions of increasing responsibility completed dozens and dozens of process improvement projects including managing summer shutdowns in a glass container moulding plant of capacity of 600 tons per day. In today's dollars Burns Bridge would typically have been responsible for about $1 million in repairs and capital expenditures on a two week shut down.
As engineering manager in a Tier 1 automotive fuel and brake bundle plant managing a multi cultural cross functional team of technical professionals, Burns Bridge achieved a 100 percent on time delivery record through a three year period for quotes, prototype parts, PPAP submissions, run at rates and ramp parts. During this same period Burns Bridge coached subordinate staff to make many improvements to the process and plant error proofing which allowed it to achieve a 0 ppm defect record in 2004. Model year rollover launches would typically involve tooling (expense) and capital spend in the order of one to two million dollars.
Most recently as general manager of a third party rotating equipment repair facility, Burns Bridge acted as the project manager to relocate an Edmonton repair shop into new quarters, taking care of layouts, services, storage, and building preparation. This project included three new bridges, the installation of a fully permitted paint booth, a new welding booth with ventilation, a 600 amp 480V electrical service, a 3200 square foot two storey serviced office, outdoor insulated climate controlled compressor building, updated pallet racking and a new small parts elevated storage mezzanine. Burns Bridge understands that with a project you begin with the end in mind, and work back to the beginning to develop a timeline and project plan. Burns Bridge understands how to deliver a project on time and on budget.
